The new Glashütte Original Sixties Iconic Collection adds five prismatic new dial colours giving a burst of colour to the portfolio.
With the Glashütte-style obsession to perfection, these new editions have been created using a complex process which involves applying layer upon layer of lacquer onto galvanised metal until the required tone is achieved, after which each dial given a superb shaded effect which promises uniqueness.
A 40-year old stamping machine uncovered in the factory storeroom adds an authentic textured effect best showcased on the Sixties Grey model, which should not be overlooked in favour of the other more vibrant editions - scintillating Aqua and Red and the quite simply delicious Golden and Brown options.
The Glashütte Original Sixties watch was already a classic, with its elongated numerals, whisker-slim markers and that very retro fuzziness where dial and case meet, thanks to domed sapphire, but these new boutique-only models will no doubt open up the collection to a new client base and are well worth seeking out for closer scrutiny.
Inside each of the new Glashütte Original Sixties Iconic Collection models ticks one of their in-house Manufacture Calibre 39-52 movements and each case is sized at a very vintage 39mm across.
